Valentine's Day is a time for people to honor their true loves. But for one Cary couple, it's much more than that. February 14 is a day they'll never forget.

In 1985 on Valentine's day, Sharon Johnson was fed up with the bar scene and was looking for real romance, so she took a risk. She allowed the WRAL programPM Magazineto tape a video personal ad in which she talked about what she wanted in a partner.

It worked. Kevin O'Donnell responded and, soon, they found themselves under Cupid's spell.

Sharon says when she made her videotaped personal ad, she never imagined it would lead to a husband.

The hopes of both paid off. Sharon got mail from 60 men, but she says it was Kevin O'Donnell's letter that caught her eye.

Soon after they started dating their union was celebrated as a success story on WRAL. At that time, O'Donnell said there were a couple of very important factors for him.

Three years after they met, Sharon and O'Donnell were married. Today, they have two sons and 10 years of marriage behind them. O'Donnell says at their house, Valentine's Day is a day they never forget.

Sharon says things have changed with time, but the love is still there.

Every Valentine's Day brings back many memories for this couple.
