Durham, N.C. — Durham police posted an Amber Alert for a girl who reportedly had been kidnapped at gunpoint from her school bus stop, then announced the girl had been located.
Police said only that Natalie Sanchez Fernandeza, 15, had been found shortly after 9:30 p.m. The state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety said the girl was "safely recovered."
"Durham Police worked relentlessly following leads and located Ms. Natalie Sanchez Fernandez. Because of the sensitivity of this investigation, no additional information will be released at this time," an announcement said.
Witnesses had told police she had been abducted by two men shortly after 3 p.m. near the Duke Manor apartments where her family lives.
Police had been looking for a white Honda Civic.
