14-Year-Old Charged After Allegedly Bringing Gun to School

e-mail print friendly

A 14-year-old boy is facing juvenile criminal charges after he allegedly brought a gun to school Wednesday.

Authorities pulled the teen out of class at Overhills High School in Spring Lake and found a .357 Magnum in his book bag.

Principal John Castranio said the student, whose name has not been released because of his age, had a fight with a friend on Tuesday and allegedly made threats to him.

The gun was unloaded, Castranio said but there were bullets in the bag.

There is so much more to this. But the media doesn't print it all. Don't blame the dad, he was killed a few weeks ago!

It's me again, I 1000% agree with you!!!!!! Back when I was in school I never heard of such things happening. No one wants the religious people to pray in school or in public, but wants everyone to accept gay people?? (A whole different topic I know) You have to believe this world is only going to get WORSE!! The bible declares these things will come up on the earth. What the bible said is now unfolding. Anyway, carry on.

His mother? His Father? Try thinking of it this way. He could be some troubled teen who is involved in a gang and that's probably how he got the gun and ammo. I couldn't tell you how many times I know of parents not knowing there kids are involved in gangs!!! These working moms and dads arenot giving enough time to find out who there children really are or what's on their mind. These children then turn to gangs and sometimes bomb making with their talents--when that anger could be redirected to doing something positive. *smh* (shaking my head) Blame his parents for not being involved enough, not for having access to the gun and ammo only!!!! Look at it that way.

BTW ladyrose..you kid yourself if you think only good ole country boys and military parents are the only people who own guns..or can get their hands on them....

This is why the authorities have to take all threats seriously. My child has been randomly searched twice and that's fine with me. It's a shame that metal detectors might not be too far off for schools here.
