DURHAM — The skies have cleared, but the casualties from this past week's rain are still mounting. While residents keep a close watch on rising rivers the state is monitoring livestock operations and municipal sewer plants.

Heavy rains contributed to a 100,000 gallon overflow at the Durham County Triangle Waste Treatment Plant. The North Carolina Division of Water says more than a dozen rain-related spills have been reported, but none is as large as Durham's.
