FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police are investigating an alleged kidnapping from a busy mall parking lot. A Fort Bragg soldier reported his wife missing when she didn't come home from shopping Sunday afternoon.

The Harnett County woman later turned up in West Virginia, saying two men kidnapped her from the Cross Creek Mall parking lot. She says that she was sexually-assaulted.

Police don't know who the two suspects are, but they do have a picture of one of them. They say that one of the suspects tried to use the woman's ATM card. Police have the photograph, taken at the teller machine.

The 31-year-old woman returned home Tuesday afternoon.

Police warn shoppers to be alert in all parking lots. They believe that this woman's kidnapping was a random act of violence.
