FAYETTEVILLE — Police will now be more easily accessible in a Fayetteville neighborhood. The police department is opening a new 24-hour substation in Cross Creek.

Police say the new police district will help them better serve and protect, and will undoubtedly reinforce the community policing policy. The opening of a second full-service police department is part of a new district policing plan that focuses on reducing crime.

Generally, police react to a trend that is already underway. One of the biggest benefits of this particular type of program is that it provides extra protection in anticipation of an emerging crime trend.

Through a new computer program, police will also be able to track crime statistics a lot more quickly.
