Mother Arrested, Accused Of Assaulting Daughter With Car

HENDERSON, N.C. — A Henderson woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with running over top of her daughter with her car after police say the two got into an argument.
At about 2 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue in Henderson, where they found a 15-year-old outside the yard of her house with a leg injury.
Lecia Johnson, 32, the victim's mother, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly intentionally driving her 1999 Chevrolet Malibu over her daughter. She was also charged with one count each of intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse.
The victim was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center for treatment. Johnson is in the Vance County Jail under a $105,000 secured bond. She is expected to make her first court appearance Feb. 7.
