Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Laurinburg man is wanted in connection with a Fayetteville shooting that injured a 4-year-old.

Authorities say that 19-year-old Calem Reese Madden fired a 9mm pistol into a vacant mobile home on Tony Drive on Dec. 14. The bullet traveled through the side of the structure and entered a neighbor's home, grazing the arm of the child.

On Dec. 12, authorities responded to another shooting on Tony Drive, where a man who had been shot in the leg identified Madden as his assailant.

Madden is now sought on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, as well as a probation violation. He is a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 145 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He also has a scar above his right eyebrow.

Anyone with information about Madden's whereabouts is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500.
