Powerball Coming To North Carolina

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — If you play the new state lottery, you'll be competing with people across the country for one jackpot.

The lottery commission announced Monday that North Carolina is joining the Powerball game. Executive director Tom Shaheen recommended Powerball because a lot of North Carolinians already travel to South Carolina to play.

Virginia participates in Mega Millions. That multi-state game wasn't interested in adding North Carolina to its roster.
