GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — A man is charged in a morning accident that killed his 12-year-old daughter in Granville County.
Investigators say Bernard Williams was driving his daughter, Brianna Howell, to school when he lost control of his vehicle on Grassy Creek Road near Stovall. Authorities say the vehicle collided with a stump and overturned.
Howell died in the accident. Williams and his two step-daughters were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe ice on the road contributed to the accident.
