Slick Spots Could Cause Problems For Morning Commute

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Heading in to work Friday could be a bit of a challenge because of the weather.

Weather Advisories

WRAL WeatherCenter

There are reports of icy roads in the northern and western parts of the WRAL viewing area. In addition, there are some areas of dense fog around the Triangle, so some drivers will face low visibility on roads.

Temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing mark during the early-morning hours.

The weather conditions means some students will be heading to school later in the morning. Orange County, Alamance-Burlington, Mecklenburg County, Va. and Person County schools are operating on a two-hour delay.

The problems are not as bad as Thursday when a wintry mix fell in parts of the Triangle, creating icy patches on roads, resulting in a number of wrecks.
