RALEIGH, N.C. — A state highway patrol officer is on administrative duty after being charged with driving while intoxicated.
Scott L. Pirilla, 38, was stopped early Wednesday morning near the intersection of Lynn Road and Hilburn Drive. He was driving his personal car.
Pirilla, who has been with the Highway Patrol since 1993, is stationed in Raleigh at the training center.
He is now on administrative duty while the patrol does an internal affairs investigation.
