RALEIGH, N.C. — A man charged with soliciting sex from a teenager over the Internet is due in court Tuesday.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Charlie Castro in Lenoir County. Investigators say Castro thought he was luring a 14-year old girl to a motel for sex, but it was actually an undercover deputy.
Castro, 30, of Mocha Lane, Raleigh was charged with one count of solicitation of a minor by computer to commit a unlawful sex act.
Under the state's new "Child Exploitation Act," it is now a felony for anyone to solicit sex over the Internet if they think the intended victim is a minor.
