Two Accidents Tie Up Traffic In Clayton

CLAYTON, N.C. — Highway 70 is flowing smoothly again after two different car crashes tied up traffic for miles in Clayton.

Authorities say two cars collided around 7 a.m. near Shotwell Road.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes were shut down for nearly two hours while crews cleaned it up. No one was seriously hurt.

The second accident happened as a fire truck, trying to get to the scene of the first accident, hit another vehicle. There was minor damage.
