RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said a 22-year-old man died after his car collided with another car on South Dawson Street late Friday night.
Police believe Mychal A. Armstead was driving nearly twice the posted speed limit Friday night when he lost control of his car on South McDowell Street about 11 p.m.
Investigators said the car struck a tree, rolled over at least twice, landed upside down and then slid into traffic on Dawson Street.
That was when officers said a second car struck the driver's side. Armistead died.
Another person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
