RALEIGH, N.C. — No one was seriously injured Sunday when a sport utility vehicle flipped, trapping one person inside.
Raleigh police said a preliminary investigation showed that the SUV was traveling down
South Salisbury Street
when it accidentally ran a red light. The driver then overcorrected in an attempt to avoid hitting a car traveling on West Martin Street, but ended up striking the car and flipping once.
Firefighters had to remove the windshield of the SUV to help the driver get out.
The accident is still under investigation and there has yet to be a decision whether to file charges.
Police said the names of the motorists involved in the accident would not be released.
