RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are responding to an early-morning tractor-trailer accident on Highway 1 in Lee County.
According to Sanford police, a moving truck is lying on its side on the overpass above U.S. Highway 42 in the Tramway community.
Officials say some of the furniture fell from the back of the truck and spilled across the roadway.
There are no reports of any injuries. Crews have opened one lane to traffic, but there is still debris on the roadway. The accident is not expected to be cleared until early afternoon.
Motorists are being urged to find alternate routes.
