Harnett Authorities Investigate Three Separate Shootings

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Two people are dead and another person was injured in three separate incidents in Harnett County.

The three shootings happened within six hours of each other in different parts of the county.

The first shooting occurred at 12:55 p.m. Sunday. Investigators are looking into the death of 75-year-old Arnold Paige. At this time, they do not suspect foul play.

Another shooting occurred around 2:26 p.m. in Lillington. Investigators responded to a call on Zachary Lane. When they arrived, they found 38-year-old Norman Lee Clark with a shotgun wound to the chest area. He was taken to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

At this time, authorities have not released any information about a suspect or motive.

The third shooting kept investigators out all night. They are working a murder scene in a subdivision in the area of Ivor Lane.

Neighbors called 911 around 7 p.m. Sunday after they heard gunshots. When deputies arrived, they found 19-year-old William Matthew Jones dead near a parked vehicle. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide.
