Durham Police Investigate Hit-And-Run

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that sent one person to the hospital Saturday morning.

Police said that at about 3:45 a.m. the driver of a blue 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier pulled out of an alley just south of

Monmouth Avenue

and attempted to make a left turn onto Gregson Street when the driver struck a Ford Focus, causing it to hit a tree.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Cavalier fled the scene and has not been identified.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
