Hearing Postponed for Ex-Assistant Principal

A hearing for a former assistant principal accused of sexually abusing a child has been delayed.

Larry Ray Jewell faces nearly 50 counts of sex crimes. He was set to have a probable cause hearing Tuesday, but it has been postponed until March 13.

Jewell's attorney said he needs more time to round up additional witnesses.

Jewell was an assistant principal at Southeast Raleigh High School until his arrest on Feb. 15.

It ought to be interesting to see how this plays out in the courts in Harnett County. A guy walked out of the Harnett County Courthouse this week with a PJC after pleading no contest to 7 counts of animal cruelty - the second time he has been up against such charges. It pays to have to right attorney in Harnett County!
