Durham Brush Fire Visible From I-40

Dry conditions continue to fuel brush fires across the Triangle area.

In Durham - smoke from a brush fire could be seen near the Fayetteville Street exit off Interstate 40 on Saturday afternoon.

The fire burned some phone and power lines, but didn't cause any outages. It’s unknown how many acres were charred.

Small fires also burned in Wake, Chatham, Hoke, Vance and Wayne counties. No serious damage was reported.
