Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a complaint about possible inappropriate contact between a student and teacher.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Police confirmed Friday they are looking into a complaint involving possible inappropriate contact between a student and teacher at Roanoke Rapids High School.

Principal Monica Smith-Woffter said the teacher was suspended with pay on Feb. 21 but declined to comment further, saying it was a personnel matter.

No charges have been filed. Further details were not immediately available.
