Roanoke Rapids Teacher Under Investigation

— Police confirmed Friday they are looking into a complaint involving possible inappropriate contact between a student and teacher at Roanoke Rapids High School.

Principal Monica Smith-Woffter said the teacher was suspended with pay on Feb. 21 but declined to comment further, saying it was a personnel matter.

No charges have been filed. Further details were not immediately available.

    I'm also a student at the school and I had him as an AP English teacher. He would make rude comments to almost every girl in our class and I know of other instances in other classes also. I too think he should be fired not only because of the accusations provided but also because of his non-existent teaching skills. Now that he is "under investigation" we might actually have a chance to excel on our AP test coming up in May.

    i'm a student at the school, and i think he should get fired. he would walk the girl to class almost 20 minutes late everyday, with her backpack in his hands. i think her 6th period teacher is going to spill the beans eventually.
