Fire Training Exercise To Be Held At RDU International

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — If you see a fire at

Raleigh-Durham International Airport

, there is no cause for alarm.

Starting Wednesday, the airport's emergency services department will begin a three-day live burn training using a mobile aircraft fire simulator. The training will be held on an old runway on the east side of the airport.

The simulator will produce flames but not smoke. The emergency services team will respond to the simulated aircraft fire using the airport's fire equipment.

Daily operations at the airport will not be affected.
