One Dead in Fayetteville Fire
Fayetteville, N.C. — An investigation is underway in Fayetteville after a fire killed a man early Sunday morning.
Investigators said the modular home at 155 Huntsville Circle was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at the scene about 4:30 a.m. The blaze is believed to have begun in the residence’s family room and spread quickly through the structure, fire officials said.
The body of a man in his mid-50s was found in the family room. Two dogs also died in the fire, investigators said.
The victim’s remains will be sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy. Investigators said foul play is not suspected at this time.
