Jury Selection In Hargrove Trial Expected To Take Weeks

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Jury selection in Durham County's first death penalty trial in years could take awhile.

Lawyers scaled down the jury pool to 55 in the Dennis Hargrove trial using a questionnaire. They plan to question the remaining jurors individually.

Hargrove is charged with first-degree murder. Police say he shot four people in a house on Markham Avenue in 2003. One woman died and a toddler was shot in the eye.

The trial is expected to last two months.
