Murder Suspect Declared Healthy Enough To Stand Trial

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of killing his wife will stand trial now that his cancer is in remission.

Daniel Lang was charged with killing his wife, Shirley, a Dorothea Dix nurse, in May 2003.

Johnny Gaskins, Lane's attorney, told the court earlier this year that Lang had terminal prostate cancer and was not able to stand trial.

Gaskins later told the judge Lang will be well enough to come to court.

The trial is set for March 27.
