RALEIGH, N.C. — The murder trial of one of two men accused in a shooting that killed a woman and cost a toddler an eye could begin within the next two weeks.

Dennis Hargrove faces first-degree murder. He and his cousin, Brian Hargrove, are accused of shooting two women, a teenager and a 2-year-old in Durham in June 2003.

Police said the shooting was sparked by an outstanding debt on a drug deal in which none of the victims were involved. Colette Moss, 23, died in the shooting.

If convicted, Hargrove faces the death penalty.
