Number Of Gas Thefts In Raleigh Drops Off, Police Say

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — New numbers released Tuesday show a significant drop in the number of people driving off without paying for gasoline in Raleigh.

Raleigh police said 44 incidents of gas thefts were reported in September.

That's the lowest number of reported incidents in more than a year and a half, police said.

Police said the drop could be due in part to more gas stations requiring people to pay first.
