CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies arrested and charged Saturday a man with second-degree murder for the stabbing death of his roommate, Chatham County deputies said.

Deputies arrived at 460 North Drive, in Moncure, at about 2 a.m. Saturday and discovered Michael Lynn Lankford, 50, dead of multiple stab wounds to the chest.

Deputies located the suspect, Daniel Reynolds, 45, at the residence, and immediately arrested him. They said Reynolds and Lankford had an argument before the multiple stabbings.

Investigators discovered that the two men lived together with two teenaged children, who have been placed with relatives of the suspect.

Reynolds has been jailed with no bond, and his first court date is Oct. 4.
