Police Won't File Charges In Accident That Injured Apex Teen

Posted Updated

APEX, N.C. — Apex police said Tuesday that they do not plan to file any charges in an accident Monday morning that injured an Apex High School student on his way to school.

Authorities say Daniel Behringer, 17, was walking across Highway 64 at the Laura Duncan Road intersection when a truck hit him. Officials say the stoplight at the intersection was green and the "Don't Walk" signal on the crosswalk was lit.

Behringer was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon at WakeMed.

The school's assistant principal said Monday that Behringer has a broken leg and pelvis.
