Raleigh To Consider Raising Taxi Rates
Posted September 20, 2005
RALEIGH, N.C. — Hailing a cab may soon cost you more in Raleigh.
Higher gas prices are making it difficult for taxi services to operate, the Raleigh tax industry said.
They are asking the City of Raleigh to approve a $2 a trip surcharge for the rest of the year.
Taxi operators would also like to raise rates in January.
A committee will study the proposal and could make a decision within two weeks.
