RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County commissioners may borrow more money for schools.
Commissioners held a public hearing Monday to discuss borrowing $41 million to help pay for building projects that are over-budget due to rising construction costs.
The loan would also help cover mobile units and modular schools needed as a result of higher student enrollment.
Because the county paid off millions of dollars in bonds last year, state law does not require voters' approval this time.
