Prison Guard In Jail After Planning Drug Sale To Inmates, Police Say

CLAYTON, N.C. — Police say they've arrested a Johnston County prison guard who planned to sell drugs to inmates in Clayton.

Dennis Toole was a guard at the Johnston County Correctional Institution.

Police say he was arrested in Clayton after selling an ounce of marijuana to an undercover officer.

He was being held in jail on $31,000 bond.

Prison authorities said Toole resigned after his arrest.
