Natural Gas Leaks Into Raleigh Sewer Line
Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh authorities were called Friday evening to investigate a leak of natural gas into city sewer lines in the area of West Aycock Street and Fairview Road.
Fire Department investigators said the gas had gotten into sewer lines beneath the street, but did not pose an immediate danger. Authorities determined evacuations were not necessary.
Crews from Progress Energy and the city Public Utilities Department were called to the scene.
