WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A 19-year-old was killed in a fatal accident near the Wake-Franklin county line Wednesday.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a Ford Explorer driven by Renauldo Hillard, 20, of Goldsboro, hydroplaned on U.S. Highway 64 at about 4 p.m., and ran off the road to the right and struck two trees.
The passenger, Jynette Allen, of Raleigh, died at the scene, the Highway Patrol said.
Hillard was taken to WakeMed, where he was listed in fair condition.
No charges have been filed, as the accident is still under investigation.
