ROSE HILL, N.C. — A man suspected of shooting a police officer in Duplin County has been caught, authorities said.
Tyrone David Williams is in custody, Rose Hill police said. Police said they were not sure when or where he was apprehended, but said he was in custody
Authorities started a manhunt for Williams, who they described as armed and dangerous, after Rose Hill Police officer Mitchell Anderson was shot and wounded when responding to a domestic dispute Saturday night.
Police said Williams was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflicting serious injury, assault with a gun on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a felon, and felonious larceny.
Officer Anderson was released from a area hospital on Sunday.
