JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — There is some good news for one local family who had loved ones in New Orleans.
Earlier this week, WRAL told viewers about the Gather family in Johnston County.
Six siblings were worried about their brother Richard Gather, who lived in New Orleans. The siblings finally heard from Richard on Friday night.
He said his family survived the floods, and he could not call earlier because phone lines were down.
