16-Year-Old Killed in Cumberland County Crash
A Cumberland County teen was killed Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into a tree.
According to Highway Patrol investigators, Nicholas Allan Damone, 16, was on his way to pick up his mother on Countryside Drive and driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car, ran off the road and struck the tree.
Damone and another teen inside the vehicle were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where Damone was pronounced dead on arrival. The other teen suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
Damone was a student at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville.
