16-Year-Old Killed in Cumberland County Crash

Posted February 6, 2007

A Cumberland County teen was killed Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into a tree.

According to Highway Patrol investigators, Nicholas Allan Damone, 16, was on his way to pick up his mother on Countryside Drive and driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car, ran off the road and struck the tree.

Damone and another teen inside the vehicle were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where Damone was pronounced dead on arrival. The other teen suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Damone was a student at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville.

I have issues with all hypocrisy and ignorance, not just the Christian variety. Everyone prays that the family feels better because that’s what they are taught in Sunday School Christianity. But the bible teaches you that if you only have the faith of a tiny mustard seed, if you only ask, you shall receive. What am I doing to bring comfort to the family? Why I’m praying that their love one is restored to life, JUST LIKE in the bible, just like Jesus teaches us. Those with less faith (or those clueless about what the bible really says) pray for things like they hope the family feels better.

As for your prayer of God revealing Himself, please ask Him to do it via a burning bush. That’s my favorite.

I too pray for this family, they need our prayers to give them strenght to make it through and he will carry them all the way , he is gone, but his soul I pray is with the Lord . And for those who don't believe one day you will, and I just hope its not to late because the comming of Jesus Christ is soon my friends.

Nich was a very good friend of mine. i never would have thought he would be the one to go like this. He meant so much to so many of us. i wish i could have been closer this year instead of being in another area completely. I'll always remember the sweet things he has done and the smile he always had. I wish him well and wish i could have said so many things to him that i never got the chance to. best wishes to his family, you lost something great but i know that he would not want us to waste away because of it, he was too cheerful for that.
i would like to come to the funeral if that is at all possible. i want to pay my respects and say my last goodbyes, even though he will never be gone, but instead live on in each of us every day.
love to all involved in this,
    Heather Collins

Wow sasjbp!!! You have some deep rooted issues with Christanity or it seems like Faith peroid. I tell you what if you don't believe it or understand it or care for it then fine, that's your poragative. But don't you dare try and knock, question or come down on someone else for what the believe or do!! Keep that mess to yourself and at home. What are you doing to bring comfort to this family other than knockng someone else who is.

I will pray that God reveals himself to you in a way like none other and brings peace and comfort to the mourning hearts of the family and friends.

    NO THERE:-)

Got it….don’t pray for the resurrection of dfijan !
If you decide to backslide, please let me know so I can add you back to the “pray for resurrection” list. I wonder if all those raised from the dead in the bible where headed to heaven or hell?

The Spirit of God directions us how to pray? Isn’t that similar to “if I want your opinion I’ll give it to you”? :)

Why is it that EVERYONE prays for comfort, peace, etc. but never for the “good” stuff? It’s always ambiguous stuff, NEVER like the concrete stuff in the bible, the book from which they supposedly get their faith. No blind being healed….no lame being healed…no dead being raised. No ears being reattached…no sea being parted…no rivers being parted….no soaking wet logs being set on fire…the sun doesn’t stand still or move backward….no nothing. The best the Christian faith can muster is, “we hope you feel better.”

sasjbp...When I die, please don't pray for my resurrection and snatch me out of Heaven:-) The important thing is to pray the way the Spirit of God directs us to pray.

    Praying for this whole family!

You know, I wonder when adults will make the connection that our actions set a precendence for how teenagers will act. Has anyone taken a serious look at commuter on I-40 each day? I regulary get passed like I am standing still when I am driving at 70mph. And many times the offending person is on the cell phone, smoking a cigarette, and drinking.
