Raleigh Robbery Suspect Arrested In Florida

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say Florida authorities have arrested a suspect in a series of Raleigh-area robberies.

Gerald Jerome Raymond, 25, was taken into custody in Tallahassee, Fla. The Raleigh Police Department is charging Raymond with eight counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with crimes committed at three Raleigh check-cashing stores last week.

Individuals in the stores at the time of those crimes were also robbed, resulting in the five additional counts.

On Saturday, Raleigh police arrested another suspect in the robberies, S.T. Vaughn III.

Raymond and Vaughn are also wanted in connection with the robbery of a motel in Sallisaw, Okla.
