Randal Hall
RALEIGH, N.C. — A man who found a clever way to conceal evidence from an jewelry store heist will spend the next six to eight months in prison.

Randal Hall was charged on May 31 with the larceny of two diamonds worth $30,000 from Hinkamp Jewelers on McPherson Church Road.

Detectives said Hall swallowed one of the diamonds and stashed the other in the woods. Jailers said Hall eventually passed the diamond, which authorities later found. There is no word whether the other diamond was recovered.

Hall pleaded guilty on Aug. 11 on larceny charges. His other charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea.
