Duke Increases Campus Security

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University

is increasing its campus security.

Starting Friday, a private security firm, Allied Security, will patrol sections of the university's east, west and central campuses. University officials say the move will bolster the already 64-strong university police force.

It will also allow the department to reassign campus police elsewhere, officials said.

Classes start next week at Duke.
