Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — As students begin moving into their dorms at North Carolina Central University, someone will be watching.

Security cameras are being installed at the entrances of every dorm at North Carolina Central University.

The cameras will be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by campus police officers.

Close to 100 cameras will eventually monitor the entire campus, including academic buildings and parking lots.

The cameras are costing the university about $500,000.
