RALEIGH, N.C. — Both North Carolina's House and Senate plan to take the coming week off as several lawmakers head to Seattle for a national conference.
State lawmakers held a rare Saturday session to try to wrap up a host of legislation, but they quit without voting on a lottery.
Twenty House members and five senators plan to spend the week in Seattle. The state will pick up the tab for the trip.
Lawmakers will return to Raleigh the following week to tie up loose ends and formally adjourn.
