State Looks At Possible Illegal Dumping In Chatham County

Posted Updated

BEAR CREEK, N.C. — Property that once housed a Chatham County lab is under investigation. Hazardous waste may have been dumped into a nearby pond.

The site, which now houses Carolina Analytical Services, is on Highway 902 in Bear Creek.

Until January 2004, it was home to Woodson-Tenent, an agricultural and food products-testing lab.

Authorities are trying to determine if Woodson-Tenent dumped chemicals into a farm pond and septic system.
