RALEIGH, N.C. — Larry Veeder is in prison for a drunken-driving accident that killed six people. Now, one of the victim's families is suing the establishments they say served Veeder alcohol past the point of intoxication.

Nolan Myers' family filed the suit on his behalf. Myers was among a group of Good Samaritans that stopped to help at an accident scene when Veeder ran into the crowd.

The Myers family said leading up to the November 2003 accident, Veeder was drinking at Pure Gold and the East Village Grill and Bar.

The owner of Pure Gold said employees did not over-serve Veeder nor was it evident he was drunk. East Village Grill did not return calls from WRAL.

Veeder is currently serving an 11-year sentence.
