<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A former Fort Bragg soldier whose Raleigh storage unit got the attention of the FBI is scheduled for a September trial.

Christopher Kent was arrested in May after Virginia authorities found a small homemade explosive in his car. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched his storage units and found books on how to make bombs.

Kent, who pleaded guilty to federal charges of possessing an explosive device, is in jail without bond. His lawyer said the explosive was nothing more than a firecracker.

If convicted, Kent could spend up to 10 years in prison.
