Posted August 9, 2005

— Downed power lines resulting from a vehicle accident caused traffic problems near a busy Raleigh road early Tuesday afternoon.

Raleigh police said a moving truck struck a utility pole near

Hillsborough Street and Oberlin Road

There were no injuries resulting from the wreck, but four people were briefly trapped inside a car when power lines fell across the vehicle. Emergency crews were able to safely remove the passengers.

Progress Energy took about two hours to complete repairs and reopen traffic.
