  • Just In: A Wake County grand jury has indicted Jonathan Wayne Broyhill, 31, on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill in the April 22 stabbing of Jamie Kirk Hahn and her husband, Nation Hahn. Jamie Hahn died from her injuries two days later.

Troxler Calls For Changes In State Fair Bid Process

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state agriculture commisioner wants to change the bidding process for the

State Fair

.

Steve Troxler wants to make State Fair deals good for three years. Right now, there is an annual bidding process.

Since the state Ag Department scandal three years ago, carnival operators submitted sealed bids to win the fair.

That process will continue if the three-year fair contract proposal is approved.
