WILSON, N.C. — Wilson County authorities are looking for a murder suspect after a deadly shooting that happened in a quiet, rural area Thursday night.

called 911 after they saw a man fall out of a pickup truck into the road.

"He stumbled over toward the car the other people were driving and told them he'd been stabbed. He was bleeding pretty bad," said Wilson County Sheriff Wayne Gay.

When investigators arrived, they realized the man was actually shot multiple times. He died at the scene.

Crime scene investigators spent most of Friday searching heavy grass, ditches and a pickup truck near the area of Radford Road between Rainwater Road and Wiggins Mill Road.

Authorities believe the incident may be drug-related.

"Right now, we need to keep it sealed off. We're not sure what other evidence might be out here," Gay said.

Several witnesses reported seeing a silver-colored vehicle parked in the area Thursday night. The people who found the victim said it drove away when they pulled up to the scene.

Authorities will only say the victim was a Hispanic male. They have not released his name.

Wilson County authorities have asked that anyone who was in the Radford Road area between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, or has any information about the case, to call the sheriff's office at
