Town Officials Say Kenly's Water Is Now Safe

Posted Updated

KENLY, N.C. — The town of Kenly's boil-water restriction was lifted Thursday morning after three days.

Testing of water samples had turned up coliform, a type of bacteria that can be found in feces.

Town officials said since Monday that water should be boiled before drinking.

Scott Shelton, the town manager, said the restriction was lifted at 10:35 a.m. Thursday. All test results came back clear and the water is now safe to drink.
